Aggression,
separation anxiety or just excessive pulling cause owners who love their dogs
to despair, making many feel they have no option other than re-homing “man’s
best friend”. This often means they’re just shifting the unwanted behaviour from their home to somebody
else’s. Or worse, many dogs end up
being “put to sleep” because their
behaviour problems are seen as too difficult to treat.
Over the last 6 years Quiraing Dog School (NL) has helped hundreds of Dutch dog owners tackle the problems before it becomes too late and help owners train their dogs to become friendly, well-behaved pets. We have now opened in Edinburgh, Scotland.
At Quiraing we use reward-based training techniques to build a bond of trust between the dog and owner, encouraging the dog to repeat good behaviour. Unwanted behaviour is, mostly, ignored which quickly teaches the dog there’s no benefit in behaving badly. Dangerous behaviour has to be corrected, obviously, but we firmly believe this can always be achieved without the use of choke chains, electric collars or other pain inducing systems.
